Vero Electric working to restore power to 20,000 customers

VERO BEACH — The City of Vero Beach has restored power to 4,500 of its electric customers, according to City Manager Jim O’Connor.

Of Vero’s 34,000 total customers, roughly 15,000 are still without power in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.

“Flooding was very little,” O’Connor said. “All water and sewer service stayed in operation.”
