Publix awards $15,000 to 211 HelpLine

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Publix distributed more than $1.4 million to community partners within the past couple months.

The 211 HelpLine was recognized for its important service in helping link individuals and families to important food resources throughout the community. Publix South Florida district managers awarded 211 HelpLine a check for $15,000 to continue its efforts.

“The staff at 211 work to eliminating hunger on a daily basis,” Said Susan Buza, CEO of 211 HelpLine. She added that calls for food and food assistance programs represented nearly 10% of the 104,000 calls answered last year.
