Inner Truth Project director to speak at Democratic Women’s Club meeting May 14

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Mindi Fetterman, executive director of the Inner Truth Project, will be the guest speaker at Saturday’s meeting of the Democratic Women’s Club of Indian River County.

An award winning activist, Fetterman founded the Inner Truth Project as a means of changing the conversation surrounding sexual violence and giving a voice to survivors.

The effort began as a small support group and grew into the Treasure Coast’s only center providing programs exclusively for survivors of sexual abuse and rape.

The Inner Truth Project offers group therapy, trauma-focused yoga, equine therapy, writing groups, art therapy, and individual counseling. The non-profit center also focuses on advocacy, education and prevention programs related to sexual violence.

A dedicated volunteer and noted community leader, Fetterman is involved in numerous organizations, including Hospice, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Sarah’s Kitchen, Planned Parenthood and several autism groups. She is a member of the National Coalition of Jewish Women, Hadassah and the Port St. Lucie Business Women.

Fetterman is the founder and past board president of the St. Lucie County Chapter of the National Organization for Women and the former membership chair of the St. Lucie County League of Women Voters. She is also a former board member of Safe Space, Pace Center for Girls and the St. Lucie County Education Foundation.

The Democratic Women’s Club of Indian River’s luncheon meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Patio Restaurant, 1103 21st St. in Vero Beach. Cost is $25 and reservations are required; email DemLunch@aol.com.
