Vero Beach Wine and Film Festival founder announces winning trophy designer

VERO BEACH — The winning trophy design for the Vero Beach Wine and Film Festival was unveiled at SpringHill Suites as guests enjoyed a myriad of sweet treats from Patisserie of Vero Beach and sipped bubbly wines.

Festival founders, Jerusha Stewart and Susan K. Horn, went before the board of the Vero Beach Art Club in December to propose the club invite their members to vie to be named designer of the Vero Beach Wine + Film Festival winners’ trophy.

A dozen art club members entered the competition. Guests strolled the spacious lobby of the SpringHill Suites to admire the different proposed awards, many incorporating wine bottles, glasses and cork. Stewart announced the winning duo, artists Sue Dinenno and Ron Miller, who created a wooden sculpture of a dramatic VB, obviously for Vero Beach.

“Our judges chose this design because we’ve already been asked to make it the Treasure Coast Wine and Film Festival next year, and we said no. This is and always will be the Vero Beach Wine + Film Festival,” Stewart said.

The Festival is slated for June 9-12. For more information on the Festival, go to VBWFF.com. For more information on getting involved in the Vero Beach Art Club, go to verobeachartclub.org.
