VERO BEACH — In a moment of inspiration at the SpringHill Suites annual Art-tini Party, Vero Beach Wine and Film Festival founder, Jerusha Stewart decided to have a Vero Beach artist design the festival awards for the filmmakers. Next, the Vero Beach Art Club agreed to host the “Call for Entries” for the festival award design.
A dozen art club members entered the awards competition and produced the required prototypes for judging. Hand-painted glass, stained wood, metal, paper and found objects are all some of the elements of the mixed–media award designs presented to the judges.
The award-winning design will be unveiled at the “Sweets at the Suites” reception to be held at the SpringHill Suites, 5115 Indian River Blvd in Vero Beach from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 13. Designers and guests will be feted with fine wines, decadent desserts and a sneak peak of the films to be shown at the Vero Beach Wine Film Festival.
