Space Coast Symphony presents Bach, Mozart and Hadyn April 16

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Purists take note: the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will perform a quintessential classical concert featuring great works by composers, Bach, Mozart and Haydn at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, April 16 at Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street, 32960.

Under the direction of Pennsylvania guest Conductor Michael Hall, Bach’s brilliant Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 for solo trumpet, flute, oboe, and violin will exploit the instrumental virtuosity of Michael Fee, Alexia Jowers, Chuck McGee, and Dana Tolan, who join the orchestra to perform Bach’s intricate and masterful lines.

William Rogan will be featured when the Space Coast Symphony performs Mozart’s masterful and melodious Horn Concerto No. 4. Full of lively melodies, the Horn Concerto is lyrical, with echoes of the hunt.

The program closes with Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 104, “London.” His final symphony, “London” is a remarkable, mature work with elegant textures and luminous orchestration.

Tickets are $20 in advance and are available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at several convenient ticket outlets, including Marine Bank & Trust (beachside and mainland branches) and Madison Avenue Consignments.

The concert is free for those aged 18 and under or with a student ID. Tickets at the door are $25. Call toll free to (855) 252-7276 for more information.

For Conductor and Artistic Director, Aaron Collins, Bach, Mozart & Haydn is an opportunity to welcome back guest conductor Michael Hall, and showcase the collective musicianship of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra.

“The players are bringing their ‘A’ game for this one; performing the music that defined the genre,” said Collins. “Bach’s Brandenburg number two is a study in precision and finesse. Mozart’s work is playful genius. And ‘Papa’ Haydn’s final symphony caps a lifetime of achievement. We’ll be ready.”
