Folk singer John Flynn to perform at Emerson Center on March 20

VERO BEACH — Folk singer John Flynn will be in concert, on stage at the Emerson Center at 1590 27th Ave, Vero Beach, on March 20, at 2 p.m.

Flynn performed here two years ago and those in attendance loved what they heard. For a taste of his singing, go to: http://www.johnflynn.net.

“John Flynn has remained true to the imperative of his tune and long-time mission statement, ‘Go Wake a Heart.’ His work and songs on behalf of ‘the lost and the lonely, the shackled and scarred’ constitute an authentic American Troubadour odyssey that moved legendary folk DJ Gene Shay to call Flynn ‘the most quintessential folk singer in my life,’ Flynn’s website states.

Andrew L. Braunfeld of the Philadelphia Folk Festival said, ‘John Flynn is … worthy of our respect as he follows the paths of Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs and Kris Kristofferson.”

The concert will be on a donation basis – suggested amount is $15. Children through grade school age will be free.
