Vero Beach Art Club hosts demonstration April 7

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Art Club invites the public to free monthly demonstrations, usually held the first Thursday of each month, with the next one taking place on April 7.

The monthly socials begin with refreshments at 6:30 p.m. A brief meeting begins at 7 p.m. and is followed by the demonstration in the Vero Beach Museum of Art in the Leonhardt Auditorium.

This month the Art Club demonstration will take place Thursday April 7, with Marie Morrow. Morrow is an artist because she says she can see art everywhere – a horse or a medicine man in a palm frond; a sea goddess in the basket of shells and drift wood I collect on the beach. That gourd – it’s not just a gourd – it’s a mass of hibiscus blossoms touched by dragonfly and humming birds.

Morrow studied art in college and worked in, and taught, many mediums – oil paint, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, pastel, collage and assemblage – among others. She has won awards for her work but is proudest of her work with her students. To see Morrow’s works visit mariesartstudio.weebly.com.
