Vero Beach Art Club announces winners of ‘Art on the Island’

VERO BEACH — After a successful inaugural exhibition held in February 2015, the Vero Beach Art Club proudly announces the winners of the Second Annual “Art On The Island” exhibit.

The fine art and fine craft 3D show featured artwork by members of the Vero Beach Art Club in the categories of Sculpture, Mixed Media, Jewelry, Wood/Fiber, Ceramics, Glass and something new the Art Club calls “2D with Pizzazz!”

In this category, artists who work on flat surfaces are challenged to add a three dimensional element to their work.

The entries will be judged and awards given for the Best of Show and First Place for each of the seven categories. There are also three Patron’s Choice Awards where all patrons are given a ballot and asked to vote for their three favorite works of art. The three top winners were announced at the end of the show on Sunday.

All of the art is for sale, and the show was free and open to the public. Donations are gratefully appreciated and go to the Vero Beach Art Club’s programs for art education and scholarships.

The winners of the Patrons Choice Awards at Art On The Island, an art show produced by members of the Vero Beach Art Club are: Joe Montagnino, George Paxton and Eduardo Uttridge.

Three equal awards given to the three most voted for artist’s works , chosen by the Art on The Island Patrons during the three day 3D exhibition at the Marsh Island Club.

The Judge for the show, Marnita Patton is an artist, art educator, art judge, and art therapist. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, she has made Central Florida her home for the past 26 years.
