Vero Beach Art Club invites public to free monthly demonstrations

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Art Club invites the public to free monthly demonstrations, usually held the first Thursday of each month, with the next one taking place on Feb. 4.

The monthly socials begin with refreshments and a brief meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by the demonstration at 7 p.m. at the Vero Beach Museum of Art in the Leonhardt Auditorium.

This month the Art Club demonstration takes place Thursday Feb. 4, 6:30 p.m. with Allan Teger’s “Bodyscapes.”

At first glance, Bodyscapes appear to be landscapes; a second look shows that they are in fact nude bodies with small toys and miniatures set on them. His resume includes 13 One-person shows since 1984 including: Sin City Gallery, Las Vegas, Nev.; Dabbert Gallery, Sarasota , Fla.; Art and Soul, Woodstock, N.Y.; Susan Spiritus Gallery, Costa Mesa, Calif.; James Beard Foundation, New York City

He has also been featured in 68 group shows since 1978 including: Pennellos Gallery, Cleveland, Ohio; DC MOCA, Washington, D.C.; Dacia Gallery, New York City; Seattle Erotic Art Festival; Art Undressed, Miami; Kinsey Institute, Bloomington, Ind.; Liss Gallery, Toronto, Canada.

He has gathered 65 awards since 1978 including five “Best in Show” and 16 first place; Audience Choice award, Seattle Erotic Art Festival, 2009, 2010.

Teger received his B.A. at Lafayette College, M.A. Univ. of Delaware, and Ph.D. SUNY Buffalo.
