Vero Beach Elementary seeks Jump Rope for Heart donations

VERO BEACH — On Feb. 12, 2016 students at Vero Beach Elementary in Vero Beach will “JUMP” all over heart disease and stroke by participating in Jump Rope For Heart.

The students are raising money for the American Heart Association, which funds research, programs and education to fight heart disease and stroke, the nation’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers.

“I cannot wait for this year’s event,” said Mr. B, Jump Rope For Heart coordinator. “We are going to have a lot of fun, and the kids enjoyed learning about the importance of physical activity and how they can play a role in saving lives.”

Jump Rope For Heart is a program that promotes physical activity and heart health through jumping rope. It is co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and SHAPE America-Society of Health and Physical Educators.

To make a donation or to find out more about Jump Rope For Heart, stop by the school or call Mr. B at (772) 564-4611. Those interested can also visit heart.org/jump or email james.batory@indianriverschools.

The students’ fundraising goal is $4,000 dollars and they would love the support of the community. Please plan to stop between 9:05 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. to watch or help swing a rope at the annual event.
