Veterans Council sponsors free dinner, comedy for vets Nov. 13

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Veterans Council of Indian River County is sponsoring an evening of comedy and dining for veterans who have served on active duty or in the reserves in the last 25 years, along with one guest.

Free tickets for the dinner and 9:30 p.m. Comedy Zone Show at Riverside Theater, Vero Beach are offered for the evening of Friday Nov. 13. Interested veterans must RSVP and should arrive by 8:30 p.m. for dinner.

“This is our way of saying thanks to the men and women who served during the first Gulf War and the Global War on Terrorism,” said Curtis Paulisin, the 1st Vice President of the Veterans Council in charge of Veterans Outreach. “There are a lot of younger generation veterans in this county and we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to support them.”

Paulisin, a Gulf War Veteran himself, got the idea for the event from local Iraq War Veteran Joshua Chapple.

“We felt the men and women coming home deserve the chance to get together and have a good time in a fun, relaxing environment,” said Paulisin.

Veterans interested in attending should contact Phyllis at (772) 563-7183 immediately. Tickets are limited.
