Nautilus choral ensemble to perform fall concert Nov. 1

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Nautilus, the newest choral ensemble on the Treasure Coast, will perform its fall concert, “Songs of Night, Dawn, and the Day,” on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.

The concert will be held at the Community Church of Vero Beach, 1901 23rd Street, Vero Beach.

This 20 voice chamber choir was created during the summer of 2015 by friends who had a desire to be in a choral ensemble that could come together and instantly make music.

All musicians receive their music one month prior to the first rehearsal, and then they come to the first rehearsal with all notes and rhythms already learned on their own so real music making begins instantly at the first rehearsal.

The ensemble began rehearsing in August this year, and strives to produce all choral music they sing as authentically as possible, taking in consideration performance practice, style, vocal color and blend.

Their repertoire ranges from the music of the early renaissance (1400’s) to modern day vocal jazz, and a little bit of everything in between.
