Self-empowerment workshop comes to North Indian River County Library

SEBASTIAN — Kirsten Douds, a former model turned Certified Nursing Assistant and private caretaker for the elderly, will host a free self-empowerment workshop Oct. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North Indian River County Library in Sebastian.

Douds’ experiences in Los Angeles taught her first hand just how secretly insecure even Hollywood’s beautiful people could be.

She came back and took up a career helping the elderly and began to see how her encouragement and compassion for helping people could be put to good use. She started her own Facebook Group called Iambeautiful/Iamhandsome which now has more than 1,300 members.

With such a positive response online she wanted to share with the community her experiences and the ways she learned to overcome her own insecurities to help others overcome theirs. Attendees can expect to be inspired, motivated, and see how others really see them as opposed to how they see themselves.
