County Clerk’s employees donate to local organizations

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Throughout the year, the Indian River County Clerk of Circuit Court and County Comptroller’s employees raise money for charitable donations through dress down days, raffles and other fundraisers. Collectively, the employees vote on which organizations will receive their support. All of the donations made in the Clerk’s name are funded by employee contributions.

Recent donations made by the Clerk’s employees include:

• $311 to the Treasure Coast Food Bank to help those in the community struggling with hunger.

• $139 to Friends in Pink to assist those in the community who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are uninsured or underinsured.

• $121 to the Senior Resource Association’s Emergency Meals on Wheels program to help provide a nutritious daily meal to homebound seniors in the community.

• $300 plus paper goods and some snacks, to the Fisher House at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach to help U.S. Veterans and their families have a no cost place to stay while a loved one is receiving treatment.

Jeff Smith Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller said, “I am so proud of my employees who consistently and willingly give back to their community. They represent what is good in human nature and I appreciate their hard work and sacrifice inside and outside the office!”
