Treasure diver leads 1715 wreck site bus tour July 30

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Sit back on a cool and comfortable bus and listen to guide, Margaret Weller, widow of Bob “Frogfoot” Weller, treasure diver and author, as the group takes a history bus tour by the 1715 wreck sites.

The tour will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, and return around 4 p.m. Pre-registration and payment is required.

Margaret Weller was born on the Island of Trinidad and lived in Venezuela most of her childhood years. In 1969, she became a scuba‐diver and dived with her husband on numerous wreck sites such as the 1733 El Infante. Later Bob and Margaret exhibited a large treasure display in the West Palm Beach Science Museum and continued exhibiting in many other museums around the country.

Stops include wreck sites, McLarty Treasure Museum and Mel Fisher Treasure Museum. Both museums will include a guided tour and video.

Lunch will be at Captain Hiram’s and will be purchased separately.

Cost is $55 per person and includes handouts, bus transportation, tour, entry fees to McLarty and Fisher Museums. Registration and tickets may be purchased at the library, 2nd Floor genealogy department. All checks are to be made to the Friends of the IRC Main Library.
