Pelican Island Audubon seeks volunteers for summer camps

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Pelican Island Audubon is getting ready to start its first summer camp program. The group is very excited but needs help to make it a success.

The Society will be needing volunteers in the following areas:

Office Volunteers: Someone in the Audubon office from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. This person will mainly provide back-up for emergencies and be a go-for person. Also to assist with the arrival and departure of the children. On Wednesday and Thursday we need an office volunteer from 8:30 a.m. until the campers leave for their field trip and from 2:30 p.m. until the campers leave at the end of the day, around 3:15 p.m.

Camp Assistant: One person to be an assistant to the teacher, and to be an extra set of hands throughout the day. This person would be in the classroom as well as in a kayak or canoe.
