PHOTOS: Hibiscus Festival raises funds for Main Street upgrades

Visitors enjoyed two days of fun at the 12th annual Hibiscus Festival which took place on and around 14th Avenue in historic downtown Vero Beach.

Festivities actually kicked off Thursday evening, with the crowning of Amanda Gard as 2015 Miss Hibiscus at the Miss Hibiscus Pageant at the Heritage Center. Saturday started early with a Hibiscus Ride from the Historical Society Train Station, with alternate routes and distances.

Saturday and Sunday featured a Juried Fine Art Show, all-day live musical entertainment, great food and family fun, and on Saturday, the Harvest Outreach Shopping Cart Parade gave a boost to the organization’s Cost Share Grocery.

The event was presented by Main Street Vero Beach, which is working to preserve, protect and reenergize the downtown area.
