Lifelong Fellsmere resident Pastor Annie Mae Brown was honored as Grand Marshal of the big parade last Saturday, kicking off Fellsmere’s 104th birthday celebration.
A highlight of the event was the crowning of the 2015 Little Mr. and Miss Fellsmere, Antonio Perez Jr., and Clarissa Zamora, both 6.
Throughout the sun-filled day, crowds enjoyed food and perused numerous booths from area businesses and nonprofits.
There were games, a historical walking tour, music by Los Rancheritos de Fellsmere, and entertainment by the Los Misioneros dancers and standup comedian Evan Lawson, a ninth grade IRCHS student.
Exhibits included the almost 100-year-old electric generator that began providing power for Fellsmere in 1916, and still runs like a champ.
The event was hosted by the Fellsmere Beautification Committee.
