Youth auditions for ‘Willy Wonka Jr.’ set for April 7

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River State College Performing Arts Academy for community children and teens is holding auditions Tuesday, April 7, at 6 p.m. for the May 29 and 30 performances of “Willy Wonka, Jr.”

The audition is open to children and teens ages 9-15. No experience is required to audition for the show. The director for the show will provide instruction the night of the audition, so children do not need to prepare in advance of the audition.

There is a $190 tuition charge for new participants and $165 for returning participants that covers all costumes and costs for the Youth Musical Theatre Production Workshop for children selected for the performance. This is due at the time of audition. Children not selected will receive a full refund.

If selected for the shows, children will be required to attend all rehearsals. Rehearsals are 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursdays, April 13 to May 28. Shows are Friday, May 29, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 30, at 2 and 7 p.m.
