Humane Society hosts free ‘Caring for your Senior Cat’ talk Feb. 18

VERO BEACH — The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB & IRC) is hosting the talk “Caring for your Senior Cat,” on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 12 to 1 p.m. The event is free and will be held at the shelter’s adoption and education center, located at 6230 77th Street, Vero Beach.

The featured speaker is Vero Beach veterinarian Suzanne Gambella. Dr. Gambella will review the most common health concerns she hears from families with older cats including thyroid problems, feline kidney disease and cancer. A question and answer session will follow.

Dr. Gambella is a 1997 graduate of the University of Florida’s School of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing exclusively on cats for the last 17 years. She owns and operates the Cat Hospital of Vero Beach, a full service feline exclusive hospital.
