Treasure Coast Coin Club holds 51st annual coin show

VERO BEACH — The Treasure Coast Coin Club, Inc., (TCCC) will be holding its 51st annual coin show at the Vero Beach Community Center, 2266 14th Avenue Vero Beach, in downtown Vero Beach on Jan. 24-25, 2015.

Doors are open to the public 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free to the public. The bourse will host 39 coin dealers from around the state who specialize in U.S. and Foreign coins and currency and treasure coins. The show will also feature a full service dining area with freshly made soups and sandwiches. Free world coins will be provided for all who attend.

This year’s show will celebrate the 300th anniversary of the sinking of the 1715 fleet off the shores of the Treasure Coast. The 1715 Fleet Society will have items from these wrecks on display in the Florida Room for public viewing. These items will include coins, weapons, rigging, musket balls and much more.

TCCC will be raffling off 10 great numismatic items this year. First prize is a 1715 Fleet 4 Reale in a gold bezel. Second prize is a 1715 Fleet 8 Reale Treasure Coin. Third prize is a $2.5 Gold Indian. Fourth prize is a BU MS-64 Morgan Dollar. Fifth prize is a BU MS-63 Morgan Dollar. Sixth prize is a BU MS-62 Morgan Dollar. Seventh prize is a BU wartime nickel set. Eighth prize is a 2014 Silver Eagle. Ninth prize is a 2008 Silver Eagle. Tenth prize is a 1992 Silver Eagle.

Raffle tickets are $2 each, three for $5, or seven for $10. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the door or contact raffle chairman Mark Hendricks at (772) 473-5053 for more information.

TCCC, an ANA member club, is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting interests in numismatics, cultivating friendly relations among collectors, novices and dealers and educating and assisting amateur collectors.

The Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Indian River State College main campus room Y-102 in Fort Pierce. Meetings start at 7 p.m. The meetings include: club business information, a numismatic related educational program, refreshments and a monthly auction of numismatic related items.
