New non-profit to host kick-off reception Jan. 21

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — There is a new non-profit, the Executive Roundtable of Indian River County. The Roundtable is a high level board, consisting of only top leaders in our community who come together to identify solutions and affect policy change in order to improve the lives of Indian River County citizens.

It is the only entity that brings together leaders from the school system, law enforcement, government, social service agencies and more who can make a real, lasting difference in our community. Peter O’Bryan is the chairman.

The Roundtable will host a kick-off reception on Jan. 21, at the Richardson Center at 5:30 p.m. The event doubles as an introduction to Kids at Hope, the first initiative of the Roundtable, and the founder, Rick Miller, will be the guest speaker.

To give a brief summary of the first initiative: Kids at Hope is not another program; it is first and foremost a belief system, supported by a cultural strategy and then enhanced by programs. Kids at Hope is an innovative concept that inspires, empowers, and transforms families, youth serving organizations (schools, parks and recreation departments, police and fire departments, etc.) and entire communities to create an environment where all children experience success, NO EXCEPTIONS!
