Valentine’s Day weddings set for all committed couples

VERO BEACH — Now that marriage equality has come to Florida, many couples wish to be officially and legally recognized. Unity Center of Vero Beach and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach are collaborating to perform simple, low-cost wedding ceremonies on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14, for any committed couple who wish to be married in the State of Florida.

Six ministers will perform the ceremonies: Rev. Scott Alexander, UUFVB; Rev. Daniel Holloway, Unity; Rev. Maryann Ronan Lampson; Rev. Kathy McManus, Unity; Rev. Lee Page, UUFVB; and Rev. Carole Yorke, UUFVB.

Each couple must obtain a marriage license from any Florida County Clerk’s office by February 10. To cover administrative costs, the ceremonies will be performed at a reduced rate of $50.

For further information and to set up an appointment to meet the ministers, please call Unity Center at (772) 562-1133 or email Rev. Dan Holloway at unityrev@gmail.com, or the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at (772) 778-5880 or email Rev. Alexander at minister@uufvb.org.

Both the Unity Center and UU Fellowship have easy parking and are handicap accessible. Unity is located at 950 43rd Avenue between 8th and 12th Streets, and UUFVB at 1590 27th Avenue on the southeast corner of 27th Avenue and 16th Street.
