Genealogical Society holds holiday program Dec. 9

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River Genealogical Society (IRGS) is pleased to announce its annual Christmas/Holiday program will be held on Dec. 9.

The meeting is to be held in the first floor meeting room at the Indian River County Main Library, 1600 21st Street, Vero Beach. The business meeting will convene at 9:30 a.m. followed by refreshments and the program at 10:30a.m. This meeting is free and open to the public.

Some of the most informative and memorable programs of the IRGS happen when members participate. December is the time when most folks gather to celebrate and remember their family and friends.

The IRGS “family” is doing the same! Join in as the Swedish Genealogy Interest Group “decks the hall” and furnishes traditional baked treats. Pete Kersey, one of IRGS’ most engaging Past Presidents, will deliver his holiday message, “The Joy and Excitement of Genealogy.”

The program is purposely shortened to allow members to enjoy each other in conversation and fellowship. For those who may have missed the very successful Family History Expo in October, some of the interest groups will recreate their table displays.

The IRGS wishes everyone in the community a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, God Jul., frohe Weihnachten, Wesolych Swiat, Nollaig Shona Dhaoibh.
