The Grinch visits Vero Beach Book Center

He’s tall and he’s green but he’s really not mean. In fact, the title character from Dr. Seuss’s children’s book classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! was downright lovable last week when he visited the Vero Beach Book Center. He was on hand to urge his legions of fans to “Grow Your Heart Three Sizes” during an afternoon of stories from Miss Julie, with selfies and warm hugs from the soft-hearted Grinch (aka Chad Leonard, VBBC owner/manager).

Random House started the “Celebrate 25 Days of Grinch-Mas” campaign to encourage family reading and community spirit by doing good deeds and giving from the heart. Currently two book drives are underway at the Book Center. The public is invited to purchase books to put under the tree for children enrolled in the Vero Beach Elementary School Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program, and members of the John’s Island Garden Group are buying books for the School District’s Alternative Education Center for children in grades 6 through12.
