Sebastian woman arrested for having marijuana after calling Sheriff’s Office

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Sebastian woman was arrested at the Vero Beach Wal-Mart for possessing marijuana after she called authorities to unlock her vehicle, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Ashley Logan, 20, called authorities to unlock her truck Monday before Midnight, according to authorities. When the deputy unlocked the vehicle the deputy smelled the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the truck.

The deputy asked about the marijuana smell and Logan denied any marijuana in the vehicle.

Logan was asked to stand with her two friends while a backup unit arrived so the deputy could assist with the search, according to the affidavit. The deputy also searched Logan’s purse and found a plastic baggie containing around 3 grams of marijuana next to her learner’s license. Logan stated it was hers and not her two friends’. She said that the deputy found all the marijuana she had.

Logan faces charges of possession of marijuana under 20 grams, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
