Salvation Army reaches halfway point of Red Kettle Campaign

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — With 13 days left until Christmas, The Salvation Army of IRC is edging closer to the goal of $120,000. As of Wednesday, Dec. 11, the Salvation Army is at $49,000 or 43% of goal.

Your pocket change will make the difference whether The Salvation Army makes its goal or not this Christmas season. Your change will help make change in our community for 2014 and help The Salvation Army “do the most good” with your generosity.

This year due to Thanksgiving being later, we are 5 days short of fund-raising, so we will need more support than ever. We are asking you to take notice of all the red kettles that are out in front of many retail locations in Indian River County during these final 13 days ending Dec. 24 and make a donation to The Salvation Army.

Some of these locations include Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Publix, The Post Offices, Village Beach Market, and Winn-Dixie.

The Red Kettle Campaign is the major fundraiser for The Salvation Army and helps to support families in need during Christmas and all our programs for the entire 2014 year.

The Salvation Army is only as successful as its generous donors and community members allow it to be.

Without the help and support of this community, volunteer bell ringers and our Red Kettle Sponsors, VBCBA, Velde Ford, Ocean-FM, The Crockett Group, Christian-FM, Springhill Suites, Mayflower Society, Vero Beach Rotary, and FPL, we would never be able to maintain our programs and services.

We need our community support this Christmas and look forward to exceeding our Red Kettle Campaign goal.

Volunteers are still needed to ring the bell at any of our 12 locations..
