Sebastian church offering free fun day at Riverview Park

SEBASTIAN – The Sebastian church with a reputation of reaching out to its community in unexpected ways is at it again with a free day of fun at Riverview Park on US 1 in Sebastian.

“The mission of Coastal Community Church is to live loved by God and simply to love others with God’s love. These are just two ways that our church has the privilege to express God’s love that is unconditional, with no strings attached,” Pastor Seth Goldsmith said.

The Community Block Party will be held at Riverview Park, 600 US 1 in Sebastian from 3-6 p.m on Sept. 7.

Multiple inflatable bounce houses, a bungee run, and carnival games will be on site for families to enjoy. There will be a dunk tank, and potential targets include Sebastian City Council members and other community leaders.

A live deejay will keep the fun alive with music favorites and giveaways from local businesses. The community will be treated to slow roasted BBQ pork, hot dogs, pizza samples, cotton candy, funnel cakes, and snow cones.

The entire event is provided at no cost to the public; no charge for the food, the games, or the entertainment.

The block party is the second of two community outreach events Coastal Community Church holds each fall.

The first was the annual Gas Buy-Down, which reduced gas prices by 50 cents per gallon at the Shark Mart Mobil. Church members dispersed nearly 2,570 gallons of gasoline in a matter of an hour and forty-five minutes.
