Space Coast Symphony presents ‘Man of Steel’ ode to Superman

VERO BEACH – The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will present “Man of Steel” on Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2365 Pine Ave., Vero Beach.

“Man of Steel” is an all-American program featuring works by three iconic American composers. The concert opens with William Schuman’s Circus Overture, followed by the New York Music Critic’s award-winning Viola Concerto by composer Walter Piston, performed by Michael de Jesus.

Metropolis Symphony by Michael Daugherty celebrates America’s most beloved superhero and his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor. Infused with and inspired by classical, rock, and pop culture, Metropolis Symphony won a 2011 Grammy Award for “Best Contemporary Composition” and will feature violinist Joani Roos in the local performance.
