The late Stan Mossman works at Artists Guild Gallery

VERO BEACH — The Artists Guild Gallery proudly presents “All Things Considered – A Celebration of Life,” mixed media works by the late Stan Mossman. This award-winning artist’s whimsical works will be on display in our Guest Artist Gallery through February.

Mossman, who recently passed away on Dec. 28, 2012, will be remembered for his whimsical and very delightful paintings and drawings, which reside in collections nationwide.

As an award-winning graphic designer, illustrator, calligrapher, and fine artist, he used his keen sense of design in all his works, and would introduce his quirky sense of humor whenever possible somewhere within the piece.

Stan’s work has been displayed in numerous juried art shows including the prestigious Baltimore Museum of Art’s Annual Juried Exhibition, the Boca Raton Museum Artist Guild Annual Winter Juried Show, the Artist Guild Exhibition at Boca Center, the Horrt Annual Show at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, and the Boca Raton Museum Artist Guild Kaleidoscope Show.

Stan Mossman graduated from the Philadelphia Museum School of Art in 1949 after receiving a much sought-after four year merit scholarship. For years, he operated his own design studio in the Baltimore area, and is past Board Member of the Baltimore Museum of Art Print and Drawing Society.

In 2011, Stan brought his design, illustration, calligraphy, and fine art talents to the Treasure Coast. His whimsical style had found immediate acceptance, as evidenced by membership in the Vero Beach Art Club and distinction at the Indian River Humane Society’s 2011 Art for Animals exhibition.

His artistic legacy has been passed down to his daughter, Andi Beck, who herself is a renowned and very talented Vero Beach interior designer.

Andi states that her father continued to draw right until the end of his life. “I’d rather be drawing,” was his life’s motto, the words of which will be forever etched into his memorial stone.

“All Things Considered – A Celebration of Life” will be on view at the Artists Guild Gallery Feb. 1-28.

New works by our 19 gallery artists and numerous consignors will also be on view, including floral paintings for Valentine’s Day gifting in many different mediums, styles, sizes, and price ranges.
