“Art for Animals” entry deadline is Nov. 1

VERO BEACH — The Nov. 1 entry deadline is quickly approaching for artists interested in entering The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County’s (HSVBIRC) second annual “Art for Animals” show.

HSVBIRC’s art show and sale benefits the animals of the community. Florida artists wishing to participate can obtain guidelines and registration information by visiting The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County in person or downloading the “Art for Animals” application from the shelter’s website at www.HSVB.org.

The cost to exhibit is $10 per piece, and artists can submit up to three entries. Although the deadline for artist applications is Nov. 1, all art must be delivered to the shelter by Nov. 19.

Artists are invited to submit representations of domestic animals and Florida’s native wildlife. Mixed media, paintings and drawings, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, needlework, and digital art will all be accepted.

Co-chaired by local animal advocates Sheila Marshall and Ritz Ziegler, the event will be held at The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County, located at 6230 77th St. in Vero Beach.

A private artist’s reception will be held the evening of Nov. 23.

The show will be open to the public and free of charge on Nov. 24 and 25.
