Register now for 5-week art classes in May at Vero Beach Museum of Art

VERO BEACH — Register now for the Vero Beach Museum of Art’s special 5-week classes. These Museum Art School classes all begin in May.

You may register in-person at the museum during business hours, call Ellyn Giordano, Museum Art School Registrar, at (772) 231-0707 ext. 116, or visit www.VeroBeachMuseum.org.

If you choose on-line registration, go to the website “home page”, select “Museum Art School”, then scroll down to “class schedule”. You’ll find class information, cost, dates, and descriptions for all 5-week classes.

Register and pay online using your MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover credit card.

The wide variety of available 5- week courses include: Drawing: “Architecture of the Face” taught by Dawn E. Miller (Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.., May 9–June 6); Pastels/Painting: “Is it Painting?” taught by Dawn E. Miller (Mondays from 1:30–4:30 p.m., May 7–June 4); “Spring Studio” taught by Kathy Staiger (Mondays from 1:30–4:30 p.m. , May 7–June 4 and Fridays from 1:30–4:30 p.m. , May 11–June 8); “Oil Painting for the Beginner” taught by Marie Morrow (Wednesdays from 1:30–4:30 p.m., May 9–June 6); “Beginners and Beyond (oil painting)” taught by Marie Morrow (Wednesdays from 6–9 p.m. , May 9–June 6); “Expressive Figure Painting (intermediate and advanced)” taught by Deborah Gooch (Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.,  May 10–June 7); Glass/Jewelry Design: “Fused Glass Jewelry Design” taught by Amanda D. Lucas (Mondays from 1:30–4:30 p.m., May 7–June 4); “Silver Jewelry Design: PreciousMetal Clay” taught by Linda Kline (Thursdays from 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 6–9 p.m., May 7–June 4 [both sessions]); Studio Arts Workshop: “Introduction to Watercolor” taught by Marie Morrow (Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 12,13); and Humanities Workshop: “Narrative History vs. Fiction: Germany” taught by Chris Douglas, studying the books “In the Garden of the Beasts,” by Erik Larson, and “Children and Fire,” by Ursula Hegi on Saturday from 1:30-4:30 p.m., May 5 only).
