Golf with a purpose April 21 with Christ by the Sea

VERO BEACH — Help Serve the World with friends from Christ by the Sea United Methodist Church. For the fifth year, Christ by the Sea will host its annual Golf Tournament to benefit a number of local agencies, including Habitat for Humanity, the Homeless Family Center and The Source.

Additional monies are used to support Roca de Salvacion, a sister church in Las Parra, Cuba.

Most recently this money has provided a water pump for the church to have the “luxury” of running water. Other monies helped provide medicine, basic supplies and improved church facilities in a country which struggles with basic needs. Christ by the Sea sent a team, including its minister, Rev. Cliff Melvin to deliver supplies and assistance.

The Scramble Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 21 at Sandridge Golf Course, 5300 73rd Street. Registration begins at 7 am with an 8 am shot-gun start.

Returning for the fifth year is chairperson, Jessie Marden who states, “I am thrilled to see how the event has grown over the past four years with the support of Rev. Melvin, the congregation and the community. It is a joy to reach out beyond the walls of our church building.”

In addition the event will include a Silent Auction and Luncheon. People may attend these activities without participating in the golf tournament. Hole sponsors and auction items are deeply appreciated.

To donate or register, or for additional information call the church office at 772-231-1661, or Jessie Marden at 772-234-7168.
