Next in Chamber Music Series features music of Strauss Feb. 19

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Museum of Art and the Atlantic Classical Orchestra present the second offering of their 2012 Chamber Music Series. Chamber Concert II takes place on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. The program features the music of Richard Strauss.

Based on Alfred Lord Tennyson‘s 1864 long poem, Enoch Arden, this narrator/piano duet follows the life of a man who returned home from a long voyage to find out that life has moved on without him. Peter Pertis, renowned pianist, performs the dramatic piece with narrator, John Felix.

The Vero Beach Museum of Art and the Atlantic Classical Orchestra’s partnership, now in its fourth season features small ensembles performing some of the greatest music ever written. Internationally acclaimed Grammy Award nominee and ACO music director Stewart Robertson hosts this superlative chamber music series on the stage in the Museum’s intimate and acoustically superb 240-seat Leonhardt Auditorium.

The final Chamber Music concert of the season takes place on March 25, 2012 and features Amy Beach’s Piano Quintet and Robert Schumann’s Piano Quintet.
