Indian River Symphonic presents Garrick Ohlsson and Wroclaw Philharmonic Feb. 11

VERO BEACH — On Saturday, February 11 the Indian River Symphonic Association will present a concert by the Wroclaw Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. This world-renowned Polish orchestra was established in 1954 and has played to international acclaim throughout Europe and the United States. Jacek Kaspszyk, the orchestra’s Artistic Director, has held this position since 2006 and will conduct the orchestra for this performance.

Piano soloist Garrick Ohlsson is well known to the Vero Beach audience, having performed with several other symphony orchestras in concerts presented by the Indian River Symphonic Association. A student of Claudio Arrau, Ohlsson achieved international recognition in 1970, when he was awarded the Gold Medal in the Chopin International Piano Competition in Moscow.

The evening’s program will include:

K. Szymanowski Konzert Overture

L. von Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major, Op. 58

A. Dvorak Symphony No. 7 in D Minor

The concert will begin at 7:30 pm at the Community Church of Vero Beach. Individual tickets are $50 each.

For those who are unable to get tickets in advance of a concert, returned tickets are almost always available at the ticket office on the evening of the concert.
