Get your costumes ready for Vero’s Halloween Parade & Costume Contest

VERO BEACH – The City of Vero Beach Recreation Department presents the 53rd Annual Halloween Parade & Costume Contest on Saturday, Oct. 29. Line- up begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Freshman Learning Center (1507 19th Street). The parade will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. and travel north on 14th Avenue to the Vero Beach Community Center (2266 14th Avenue) next to Pocahontas Park.

The costume contest (for children ages 0 – 17) will begin immediately following the parade inside the Community Center. Every child will get a chance to showcase their costume on the very spooky stage and receive a free goody bag. Prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding costumes.

Treasure Coast Women’s Club members will stroll from the Freshman Learning Center to the Community Center with a decorated shopping cart. They will be collecting canned and dry food products that will be donated to local food banks. So look for the shopping cart, bring your food products, your children and yourselves to this great event! Food donations will also be accepted at the Community Center.

If you are interested in participating in the parade, just show up in costume at the Freshman Learning Center. If you would like to enter a float, walking group, or a vehicle, you can pick up a parade application at the Vero Beach Community Center or go on line to www.covb.org and visit the Recreation page. There is no entry fee.
