Back in Black adoption event to benefit H.A.L.O.Rescue

VERO BEACH — Petco is partnering with H.A.L.O. Rescue to promote a special adoption event from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm on Saturday, Sept. 17, featuring only black cats and kittens on-site at the Petco in Vero Beach, 5975 20th Street.

H.A.L.O. Rescue will have numerous, beautiful black cats and kittens ranging from three months old to adults that all need homes. The adoption event will be held just inside the PetCo front door at the H.A.L.O. Rescue “Kitty City”.

During this event only, the application fee will be waived and all cats and kittens adoption fees will reduced to $60.

These unique, playful cats make loving companions and the stark contrast between the color of their eyes and their coat make them even more striking than their kennelmates.

But these wonderful companions are often overlooked in shelters and adoption events, in part because of the cultural superstitions that surround black cats.

On the other hand, there are a lot of good reasons to adopt a black cat, including that holding a black cat is very slimming and black cats are always sleek, stylish and elegant looking – but the number one reason to consider a black cat is that they are the least likely to get adopted.

H.A.L.O. Rescue was created so that people and businesses could become instrumental in helping abandoned and abused animals live the life of happiness, joy, and love for which they were intended.
