Harbor Branch to host National Estuaries Day

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Celebrate National Estuaries Day. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic at FAU, 5600 US 1 North in Fort Pierce.

Bring family & friends, spend the day, and celebrate the natural treasure in our own backyard… the Indian River Lagoon.

Tour research labs & meet the scientists, learn about dolphin, sea turtle & shark research, explore the Indian River Lagoon shoreline at live plant & animal activity stations. Enjoy kids’ arts & crafts, fun & games, bounce house & slide, and food & drink concessions.

You can also take an Eco Boat Tour of the IRL ($10 per person).

In conjunction with the event, the Smithsonian Marine Station will host a shoreline festival at Museum Pointe Park. Visitors are encouraged to visit both locations. A free continuous shuttle service will transport guests between the Smithsonian and Harbor Branch.
