Rivalry for a good cause at Dollars for Scholars Football Classic

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The 6th Annual Dollars for Scholars Football Classic pitting the Vero Beach High School Fighting Indians against the Sebastian River High School Sharks will take place on Friday, Oct. 14 at Sebastian’s Shark Stadium.

Join fellow fans and DFS supporters for our Pre-game BBQ Dinner Event served under aVIP tent on the stadium grounds, complete with chicken, ribs, all the fixings and cold drinks.

The pre-game BBQ Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person.

The game kicks-off at 7:30 p.m.

VERO BEACH — A Vero Beach High School student was arrested after a school resource deputy found a loaded Glock .380-caliber firearm in his bookbag Monday morning, sheriff's officials said. Holiday cheer lights up PRISM concert at SRHS

Sebastian River High School musicians have been putting in work, crafting their skills since the beginning of November in preparation for a jovial showcase and an annual tradition. Now, residents can witness the performances during the PRISM series, a non-stop, two-hour holiday concert featuring a variety of performances by the school's concert bands, jazz band, drumline, the flag and dance line, choir, percussion ensemble, color guard and the Marching Sharks. Tradition: Vero Beach High School Homecoming Parade brings spirit, fun

School spirit was in full effect as residents gathered downtown to cheer on the Vero Beach High Homecoming Parade on Thursday. The sounds from whistles, drums and horns could be heard before the Fighting Indians Band marched down the streets in formation. "Being able to march with the Vero Beach High School band in the parade is such an amazing opportunity," said flutist Jada Heppern, a junior who also helped lead the ensemble during the 42nd Annual Crown Jewel Marching Band Festival at the school's Citrus Bowl Stadium last weekend.
