SEBASTIAN — Every fall for the last six years, Coastal Community Church has invited the community to enjoy the church’s two most popular events: The Gas Buy-down and The Block Party Barbecue. This year’s events will be held Sept. 10 and 17.
“As our church continues to grow, we want our expressions of love to grow,” said Seth Goldsmith, pastor of Coastal Community. “We started hosting these events six years ago in a much smaller way. Thanks to our congregation’s love for people and their commitment to generosity in our community, we have the tremendous privilege to communicate the unconditional love of God with no strings attached.”
The Gas Buy-down is the first event and will be held at the Shark Mart Mobil gas station located at the corner of C.R. 512 and C.R. 510 (9490 90th Ave) in Sebastian.
Beginning at 4 p.m., the price at the pump will be reduced by 50 cents per gallon. The event will continue until 2,000 gallons of fuel are sold.
The discount will be limited to 20 gallons per customer in order to provide the discount to as many people as possible.
The Block Party will take place on the following Saturday, Sept. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Riverview Park located on U.S. 1 and C.R.512 in Sebastian.
Multiple inflatable bounce houses, a Bungee Run and carnival games will be on site for families to enjoy. A live D.J. will keep the fun alive with music and giveaways from local businesses.
The community will be treated to slow roasted BBQ pork. Hotdogs, pizza samples, cotton candy, funnel cakes and snow cones will also be available.
The entire event is provided at no cost to the public.
Coastal Community Church welcomes additional businesses to donate prizes or food for the event. Event sponsorship is also available to gain recognition for participating businesses.

Coastal Community Church worships at 10 a.m. Sundays in the auditorium of Sebastian River Middle School. Nursery, Children and Youth programs are available.
