Meet the Locals Pottery Show at Flametree Clay Art Gallery opens Aug. 26

VERO BEACH — Flametree Clay Art Gallery will host a Meet the Locals Pottery Show from August 26 through September 30. The opening reception from 5 to 9 pm for this event coincides with the Summer Sizzler Stroll on Friday, August 26, an event that attracts many of the area’s year-round residents.

Vero Beach supports a very active, closely knit ceramic artist community. “Meet the Locals” was conceived as a way to have veteran potters interact with newcomers to the craft, and as a way to introduce these local potters to Vero Beach’s local residents. The exhibition features the work of local clay artists, both beginners and professionals and ranges from functional and utilitarian pots to work that is sculptural or whimsical.

Join us for drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the opening reception or visit through the end of September during the gallery’s regular summer hours; Friday 1 to 6 pm and Saturday 12 to 5 pm, or by appointment.

This is your chance to purchase a masterpiece by one of our local, accomplished clay artists or to support an emerging artist before they are discovered. Either way, come meet the local and learn about the vibrant clay community.

Flametree Clay Art Gallery is owned by potters Karen Ekonomou, Cosette Kelly, Lisa Lugo, Maria Sparsis and Trudy von Linsowe. It is located in the heart of downtown Vero Beach at 2041 14th Avenue.
