Indian River Symphonic Association 2011-12 Season announced

VERO BEACH – The Indian River County Symphonic Association has announced its concerts for the upcoming season. All concerts take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Church of Vero Beach.

November 20 – Brevard Symphony Orchestra with conductor Christopher Confessore and mountain dulcimer soloist Stephen Siefert.

Grieg: Triumphal March from Sigurd Jorsalfar

Conni Illisor: Blackberry Winter

Brahms: Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 73

January 7 – Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor and violin soloist Pinchas Zukerman.

Beethoven: Egmont Overture, Op. 84

Beethovenx: Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61

Elgar: Enigma Variations for Orchestra, Op. 36

January 15 – Brevard Symphony Orchestra with conductor Christopher Confessore.

Pops Concert: A Salute to John Williams

January 28 – Tschaikowski St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra with conductor Roman Leontiev, and piano soloist Alexandre Pirozhenko.

Ravel: Daphnis and Chloe, Suite No. 2

Prokofiev: Concerto No. 1 in D Flat Major, Op. 10

Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition – arr. M. Ravel

February 11 – Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor Jacek Kaspszyk and piano soloist Garrick Ohlsson.

March 13 – Nordwest Deutsche Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor Eugene Tzigane and cello soloist Amit Peled.

Brahms: Symphony No. 1 in C Minor, Op. 68

April 15 – Brevard Symphony Orchestra with conductor Christopher Confessore.

Mahler: Symphony No. 1 in D Major

The Children’s Concert, for all Indian River County fifth grade students, will be presented on February 9.
