Charter Questions

SEBASTIAN — Sebastian voters will get a chance to make changes to the city’s governing documents.

In all, eight questions are expected to be on the ballot. The questions range from minor tweaks of language to more signifcant changes pertaining to term lengths for council members and when elections would be held.

The Sebastian City Charter undergoes review and proposed changes every five years.

A panel of approximately 15 members appointed by the Sebastian City Council review the document and discuss potential changes. Those changes are then sent to the Sebastian City Council for review.

The City Council is responsible for choosing which recommendations, if any, are presented on the ballot while the City Attorney crafts the ballot language.
