Discover the Environmental Learning Center on Free Saturdays

WABASSO — Saturdays at the Environmental Learning Center are about to get better, with the first Saturday of each month being free.

Now is the time to see this wonderful part of Indian River County and enjoy all the summer experiences at ELC.

Take the entire family for a visit into the wonders of nature and science right here in the Vero Beach/Sebastian areas.

Enjoy the brand new Touch Tank with a real hands-on experience with the critters which occupy our Indian River Lagoon. Take the ‘audio tour’ around the 64-acre Wabasso Island campus.

Visit the unique Nature Nook gift shop and find the perfect gift for all your summer birthdays. Ask about the summer camp opportunities while you trek the campus with a Nature Guide.

The Environmental Learning Center is located north of Vero Beach off County Road 510 at the end of the Wabasso Bridge.

Its 64-acre campus includes exhibit areas, native plant gardens, picnic facilities, gift shop, and visitor center.

The next free Saturday is Aug. 6. Saturday hours during the summer are 9 a.m. to Noon.

ELC membership benefits, a list of its many field excursions, EcoVentures, including nature walks, canoe excursions, and boating adventures can be found at www.DiscoverELC.org.
