R.J. MacMillan installed as President of Exchange Club of Indian River

VERO BEACH — R.J. MacMillan will serve Exchange Club of Indian River as its 38th president. Board officers include Aaron Bowles, President-Elect; Jennifer Frederick, Secretary; and Melinda Branand, Treasurer.

Other Directors include Joan Barcus, Nancy Gollnick, Michele Knight, Barbara Parent, Robert Poore, and David Walker. Andrew Molloy is Past President. Florida District Exchange Clubs President Eric Menger of Vero Beach conducted the installation of officers at the Club’s annual banquet held June 17 at Culinary Capers in Vero Beach.

Ed Kay is this year’s Exchangite of the Year. He was honored for his ongoing accomplishments, his excellent service as Board member and president, and his active participation in club activities since joining Exchange in 1983.

The stars of the evening were Peter Armfield and Lyle Ostrom, the club’s honorary entertainers, who provided humor and music by Some Other Brothers.

Exchange Club of Indian River meets for lunch at Culinary Capers each Wednesday at noon. Meetings feature programs on a wide range of business, government and civic, charity, personal, and professional topics. It provides the community with programs in youth activities, service, and Americanism.

Through participation in its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse, the Exchange Club of Indian River’s Foundation supports a number of local youth-related charities. Its major fundraisers include the Annual Exchange Club Blue Water Open Dolphin Mania Charity Fishing Tournament held each May.
