CAMERA: Is he DEA, ICE, FBI? No, just a photographer.

I do not carry a gun, unless you count the two Canon cameras on me that I shoot people all day long with.

Never would I have though that getting a piece of gear would make people think that I was apart of a three letter organization. Thankfully, the NPPA, has four letters – National Press Photographers Association.

Fearing I would never get a desk job as photo departments have been rapidly shrinking, I purchased a Cotton Carrier, http://cottoncarrier.com/ to help prevent more/future backache.

Unfortunatley, when I’m out in the field covering events, especially at the court house where kids ride their bikes, I’m mistaken as law enforcement.

Even people in my apartment complex for the longest time thought I was a police officer. The scanner going in the background didn’t help matters.

Maybe in the near future I’ll get a patch on the back that says “Media,” then I’ll only get looks from people who think I’m armed with “gotcha questions.”
