Stephen Russell Powell, Jr., 75, of Vero Beach, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at home in Vero Beach.
Powell was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Sewell, N.J.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Rutgers University.
He was one of the founding partners of Lambda Technologies Inc., and TRECOM Business Systems in N.Y. & N.J.
He was a resident of Maplewood, N.J., before retiring to Vero Beach 15 years ago.
He was a member of Morrow Memorial Methodist Church in Maplewood, N.J., and also a past member of the Rock Spring Country Club and The Little Club in Maplewood, N.J.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Judith Powell, of Vero Beach; sons, Stephen Russell Powell, III (Ron McClelland), of Boston, Mass.; Gregory William Powell, of New York, N.Y., and Scott Andrew Powell (Nancy Kilarjian), of Richmond, Va.; granddaughters, Grace Katherine Powell and Caroline Elizabeth Powell, both of Richmond, VA.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Morrow Memorial Methodist Church in Maplewood, N.J.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
