Fred W. Jung Jr., 93, Vero Beach

Fred W. Jung Jr., 93, died June 21, 2011, at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

He was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 30 years, coming from Lake Mohawk and Shorthills, N.J.

Before retirement, he was an attorney.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, where he served as a lieutenant commander.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach; Vero Beach Country Club; Vero Beach Rotary Club, where he was president; Military Officers Association, where he was president; Navy League; Naval Armed Guard; Treasure Coast Home Organ Society; New Jersey Defense Association, where he was president and founder; American Arbitration Association; Federation of Insurance Council; Commerce Executive Society University of Alabama; New Jersey State Bar Association, where he was member emeritus; Independent Association of Insurance Council; Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity; High Twelve, where he was president; 32nd degree Mason; and Shriner.

He graduated from the University of Alabama and Rutgers Law School.

Survivors include his wife, A. Marjorie Jung, of Vero Beach; and sons, Fred W. Jung III, of Cazenovia, N.Y., and John R. Jung, of Oregon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, 12502 N. Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612.

A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. June 25 at the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
