Veronica M. “Ronnie” McKay, 88, Sebastian

Veronica M. “Ronnie” McKay, 88, died June 18, 2011, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian.

She was born in New York City and lived in Sebastian for 28 years, coming from West Palm Beach.

She was a bookkeeper for Harry’s at Hanover Square Restaurant and a secretary for Gibbs & Cox Naval Architects, both in New York City.

She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and was involved in its Mother’s Guild in Staten Island, N.Y.

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary in Staten Island.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Barefoot Bay and attended St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sebastian.

Survivors include her son, Kevin J. McKay, of Sebastian; daughter, Sharon McKay, of Staten Island; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas J. Mc Kay.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. June 21 at Strunk Funeral Home in Sebastian.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. June 22 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sebastian with the Rev. John Morrissey as celebrant.
